Glacier County Public Library offers an outstanding collection of library materials and a taste of Glacier County history. Located one half block from Main Street near the city’s center, the library is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday. The library is open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m from September through May. The library website is http://glaciercountylibrary.pbwiki.com/. Library patrons can enjoy a great selection of materials in just about any subject area and what isn’t there can be ordered through interlibrary loan.

Looking for information on local or area history and photography? Check out the library’s great selection.

All library materials are cataloged and accessed through the online catalog and also from the library’s website at www.glaciercountymt.org/library by clicking on "catalog." The library offers free Internet access, reference service and word processing for all users.

Infotrac, consisting of several databases of full text magazine articles, law, reference and health information is available online in the library or from any computer with Internet access. A database for car repair is available as well.

During tax season, most state and federal tax forms are available in hard copy in the library and all are available for download from the internet.

Large print books, both fiction and nonfiction, are also available. The library has a large selection of books on tape and CD and an assortment of videos and DVDs.

The youth services area meets the needs of toddlers, preschoolers, elementary readers and young adults, parents and teachers. Weekly story time for preschoolers is 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday throughout the school year. A special summer reading program is available every year for kindergarten through eighth grade children.

Residents of Glacier County may obtain a library card at no charge. Are you a temporary resident or just visiting? A $20 refundable fee will be charged to check out materials.
