Montana’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program

jrmiss

Are you a high school junior? Are you looking for scholarships? If you will be a college-bound high school senior this fall, Montana’s Junior Miss program may be just the thing for you. This year’s state program will be held August 1-7, with the final program the evening of Aug. 7 in the Cut Bank High School Auditorium. The Cut Bank Area Chamber of Commerce is the local sponsor of this event.

If there is not a local Junior Miss program, young women can still participate and compete for valuable cash scholarships at the state level through the "At-Large" program.

Each participant will be evaluated in the following categories: scholastics (20 percent), interview (25 percent), talent (25 percent), fitness (15 percent) and self-expression (15 percent). The program’s goal is to honor young women who excel in all these areas and to encourage them to continue on the path of excellence. By completing their college education and assuming roles of leadership in their communities and professions, they can set an example for other young women to follow.

In addition to cash scholarships awarded at the state level, the winner of the Montana Junior Miss program will receive an all-expense paid two week trip to the America Junior Miss National Finals.

The America’s Junior Miss program was founded in 1957 and is the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school junior girls. It has helped thousands of girls pay for their educations and work at pursuing their ambitions. Over 700,000 young women have competed at the local, state and national levels.

Young women interested in competing in this year’s Montana Junior Miss program can contact Wanda Rude, state director, at mtjrmiss@yahoo.com. More information on the Montana Junior Miss program and America’s Junior Miss can be found on the website at www.ajm.org.
