Lewis and Clark Festival

Since 1979, Cut Bank has been holding a Lewis & Clark Festival each summer. A local group of citizens started the festival to honor the passageblackpowder of the Lewis & Clark team through this area.

Within the Cut Bank region are two historic sites identified from the Lewis & Clark expedition. The first is Camp Dissappointment, located west of Cut Bank. The other is the Two Medicine Fight Site, located south of Cut Bank. These two stopping points are on the National Lewis & Clark Trail.

The festival is a fun and entertaining way of remembering Lewis & Clark as well as commemorating their activities and discoveries. Each year Cut Bank residents plan parades, free concerts, a chili cook-off, a craft fair and a host of other events for the summer celebration. This year the Lewis & Clark Festival takes place on July 30-August 1, 2010. Please check the Chamber calendar for further information.
