Montana Shakespeare in the Park
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks is a theatrical outreach program of Montana State University-Bozeman and is sponsored locally by the Cut Bank Area Chamber of Commerce, Cut Bank businesses and individuals. The mission of the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks program is to bring quality, live theatrical productions of Shakespeare and other classics to as many communities in Montana and the vicinity as possible at a reasonable cost. It travels thousands of miles each year to stage productions in small, underserved rural areas.
What began as an amateur, 12-city tour has become a nationally known, professional company that presents a 10-week tour of nearly 70 performances in 50 communities throughout not only Montana, but northern Wyoming and eastern Idaho. Nearly 60 percent of these performances take place in communities with a population of less than 3,000.
The Cut Bank Area Chamber of Commerce budgets $1200 to pay the cost of bringing Montana Shakespeare in the Parks to town.
